The 2006 Art of Golf Festival and Golf Collectors Exhibition, founded in 2001 by Tom Stewart of Old Sport & Gallery, will be held November 3-5, 2006 at the Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The festival features some of the finest golf collectors, artists, sculptors and photographers exhibiting and selling their works, artifacts and memorabilia. The Art of Golf and Golf Collectors Exhibition is sponsored by the Tufts Archives, Old Sport & Gallery and Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club. |

The event will feature an opening reception on Friday, November 3. On Saturday, November 4, the Exhibits and Trade Show will be open all day, featuring “Antique Road Show”-style appraisals. Saturday night will feature cocktails and an awards dinner, and silent auction. The Exhibits and Trade Show will be open on Sunday as well. Throughout the weekend the public is invited to attend and may view displays as well as purchase from the exhibitors and the items offered for auction. |

The host site of the 2006 Art of Golf and Golf Collectors Exhibit, Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club (www.pineneedles-midpines.com) is operated by the family of Peggy Kirk Bell, a pioneer of the LPGA. Pine Needles, which opened in 1928, was the site of the 1996 and 2001 U.S. Women’s Open Championship and will host the 2007 Championship. It is also a venue for the 2006 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship. |
