The Dayton Trade Fair, held on January 11-13, went off without a hitch again this year, thanks in large part to the mild weather that has graced much of the country this winter. The only real weather issues happened in Colorado the week prior, and the Hutton brothers made it out of the storm and arrived on time.
A quick review of the registrants shows we had participants from 17 different states plus Canada and England - which is almost as varied as the brands of beer in the hospitality suite on Thursday and Friday evening.
There were a number of deals that went down on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the room trading enjoyed by the early arrivals. By the time the show officially opened up on Friday morning, we had just over 100 tables of great stuff on offer. Hundreds of clubs changed hands as collectors and players sorted through the stacks. Around noon, the doors opened to the public and they arrived in good numbers - not only buying items, but bringing several interesting items with them (including a Park Patented Lofter).
