Richard Harris Presents to Old Fighters Outing

Rich Harris, Bill Weisler and Bob Gettis of the Golf Collectors Society Region 2 played in an outing of the Old Fighters on Good Friday at the Jeffersonville Golf Club in Pennsylvania. The Old Fighters are a group of about 50 people that play golf on Good Friday and the day after Thanksgiving. They are an offshoot of the PDE, A Pharmaceutical Trade Association that is the oldest active trade association in the United States founded in 1861.

Following the round of golf, Rich Harris presented the history of GCS and explained the various features of several wooden shaft clubs that he brought for the “Show and Tell”.  Rich answered many questions from the group and we had GCS brochures and registration forms for the May 19, 2006 Region 2 outing available for each table.  Please visit the “Events” page on the website for more information on this upcoming event.

The photographs feature GCS member Rich Harris making his presentation to the group, Rich Harris and Bill Weisler, and Bill Weisler with his “Clothes to the Pin” award (a framed gold painted clothes pin), presented annually to the closest to the pin winner.
