Practice Items & Instructional Aids

For more than a century, practice items and unusual gadgets have been created for the purpose of improving the golfer’s game.  Many practice devices were created for home use, both for indoors and outdoors.  They included indoor putting contraptions, swing guides, and gadgets to improve alignment.  A large variety of “portable golf holes” for putting practice were particularly popular.  Although many of these contraptions had short production lives due to poor design or lack of results, they are now sought after by collectors.  Shown here are a variety of items that were available at the recent Dayton Trade Fair.
